Oh how we love Fall at the Wiley House! With the beautiful warm colors, pumpkin bread in the oven, football on TV and the smell of an apple cider candle how can you not? We spent this past weekend with our friends from the Atlanta area who were so gracious to make the drive to see us so we could carry on our pumpkin patch tradition! We have taken our girls Karoline and Averi since they were just born and this year marked our sixth year going together. My how the time does fly.

To round out the weekend while Karoline was in the driveway watching her Dad fix one of the bikes she had a little fury friend come and hop in her lap. The cutest baby squirrel who was not at all shy just hung out with us for over an hour. You could tell he was probably just out of the nest and on his own for the first time in life. Of course, Karoline said can we keep him- please Mom, please Dad? Can we name him Alvin? Um.... did you see what Alvin did to his house? We assured her that squirrels live on the outside and that perhaps we could feed him a few nuts and he would probably stick around. Then behold...out popped another one - did somebody say nuts? And nuts it was and has been since. We have these two little ones that decided to take up residence at our home. Our neighbor obliged us with a cage because I think he too wants to play with Alvin and Simon after school. I must be honest in saying that I also have become attached to these fury guys. They are very baby like and want to be cuddled. What? this sounds crazy I know- SQUIRRELS? I have never touched a squirrel before only seend them running about so this is the oddest thing. Obviously we will not be able to keep them as they grow older and don't worry we know all the danger they can bring. We certainly don't want to end up like the Griswold's but for now we might have to give them a wee bit of love while they are tiny ones!
HAPPY FALL!

Cute video . . . I have never heard of squirrels just climbing into someone's lap before. Your girls must be thrilled!
And she takes on more creatures that need to be cared for... Love you:)
